How do you produce combat boosters?

To explain how to make a combat booster, we will go through the manufacturing of the Standard Blue Pill booster step by step and then go into further details of booster manufacturing, such as required skills, what arrays to use when making complex (improved and strong) and synth boosters.

Making a Standard Blue Pill Booster

First preparation stage

Obtain a Standard Blue Pill Booster Blueprint from a exploration complex in the Vale of the Silent region. The blueprints for the Blue Pill Boosters can be found in hacking complexes, you will find Blue Pill Reactions in the same complexes.

To make a Standard Blue Pill Booster from the blueprint you will need a few items.

The list of materials for making a Standard Blue Pill Booster consists of two items, Megacyte and Pure Standard Blue Pill Booster.

You can mine or simply buy the Megacyte

The next step is getting the Pure Standard Blue Pill Booster.

To do that you need a few things, the Standard Blue Pill Booster Reaction which makes the Pure Standard Blue Pill Booster, water and Amber Cytoserocin, a type of gas cloud material.

To get the reaction you need to locate hacking sites through exploration in the same area of space as you locate the Amber Cytoserocin and the Standard Blue Pill Booster blueprint. A reaction can be found inside these hacking sites as mentioned above.

The water can be bought from the NPC market

The Amber Cytoserocin can be extracted from clouds in space with the right equipment, namely the gas harvester module, a type of mining laser module. These clouds can be found through exploration and scanning in 0.0 space, in this case also in the Vale of the Silent.

When you have gathered these three items, you need a Player owned Structure(POS) with the equipment needed to use the reaction and materials with, these consist of a Control Tower powering a Medium Biochemical Reactor Array, one Biochemical Silo, two General Storage Silos and one Hazardous Chemical Silo.

Second preparation stage

To make the Pure Standard Blue Pill Booster from the Standard Blue Pill Booster Reaction you do the following:

You put 100 units of water into a General Silo and 20 units of Amber Cytoserocin(as listed in the reaction information window) into a Biochemical Silo.

You link these input silos with the Reactor Array, which in turn is linked to two output Silos, the output General Silo and the output Hazardous Chemical Silo.

The output General Silo receives the water that is left when the production of the Pure Standard Blue Pill Booster is finished, roughly 95 units of water. 15 units of  Pure Standard Blue Pill Booster goes into the output Hazardous Chemical Silo when the reactor is done mixing the water and the Amber Cytserocin with the Standard Blue Pill Booster Reaction.

From this process you get the 15 Pure Standard Blue Pill Boosters.

In order to make one Standard Blue Pill Booster you need 17 Pure Standard Blue Pill Boosters and 4 units of Megacyte (with perfect skills). This means that you will have to run two cycles through the reactor array to gather enough Pure Standard Blue Pill Boosters to make a single Standard Blue Pill Booster.

Manufacturing stage

Once you gather the required materials, it is time to make the Standard Blue Pill Booster. There are two ways to do this, you can either use your mobile Drug Lab at your POS or a production line of a Amarr or Caldari Outpost if you have access to one.

The production process is simple, much like manufacturing a ship or any other item in the game. You simply use the blueprint and the items required to manufacture the end product through a manufacturing slot. You get one Standard Blue Pill Booster from each production run of the blueprint.
Improved and Strong Boosters

The process for making improved and strong boosters is the same as with the standard version but the setup of your POS needs minor adjustments as the materials required to make the improved and strong boosters are not the same as the standard one. The changes are as follows and we continue to use the Blue Pill Boosters as an example:

Improved:
2 General Storage Silos for the Oxygen
3 Hazardous Chemical Silos for the Pure Standard Blue Pill Booster, the Pure Standard Crash Booster and the Pure Improved Blue Pill Booster
1 Biochemical Reactor Array for mixing

Strong:
2 General Storage Silos for the Hydrochloric Acid
3 Hazardous Chemical Silos for the Pure Improved Blue Pill Booster, the Pure Standard Mindflood Booster and the Pure Strong Blue Pill Booster
1 Biochemical Reactor Array for mixing

The rule of thumb here is that a General Silo is required for the input and output of general items such as Oxygen, Water and the Hydrochloric Acid. The Hazardous Chemical Silos are used in the same manner, one for each booster material, input and output.

Skill requirements

The skill Drug Manufacturing is the skill you need to make boosters. For the standard type you need it at level 1, to make the improved version you need it at level 3 and to make the strong type you need the skill trained to level 5.

In order to manufacture a Synth Booster you need the Drug Manufacturing skill at level 1.

In order to harvest gas clouds you need the Gas Cloud Harvesting skill which enables you to use the Gas Harvester module.

We do not list skills required to run your POS or remotely manage your production lines here, but those are required just as in other POS S&I jobs.

Booster types and locations

There are 8 Booster types and the materials to make them can be found in the 8 following Regions:

Tenal – Crash

Fountain – Exile

Feythabolis – X-Instinct
Vale of the Silent – Blue Pill
Wicked Creek – Sooth Sayer
Synth Boosters

Synth boosters are less powerful boosters that can be manufactured in low sec Empire space(in systems that have security status from 0.1 to 0.4) as opposed to the hostile territories of alliance controlled 0.0 space.

The manufacturing of these boosters follows exactly the same formula as making the regular boosters. The only difference is that you can make them in Empire space and the materials required to make them are available in Empire space. These boosters can also be sold on the market as opposed to the other boosters which cannot be sold on the open market due to legal implications.

There are also 8 Synth booster types and the materials to make them can be found in the 8 following Regions:

Placid – Synth Drop
Solitude – Synth Exile
Derelik – Synth Frentix
Lonetrek – Synth Crash
Aridia – Synth Mindflood
The Forge – Synth Blue Pill
Molden Heath – Synth Sooth Sayer
Heimatar or Metropolis – Synth X-Instinct

Making a Synth Blue Pill Booster

The first step in making a Synth Blue Pill booster would be to go to The Forge Region to locate some Amber Mykoserocin, a gas cloud material and the Synth Blue Pill Booster Reaction at a hacking exploration site.

Then you need to get the Synth Blue Pill Booster blueprint from a Guristas Loyalty Point store. Once you have these items, pick up some Garbage (in accordance with the Reaction resources list) on the market and take these items to your POS.

At your POS you need one General Silo for the Garbage input, one Biochemical Silo for the Amber Mykoserocin input and one Hazardous Chemical Silo for the Pure Synth Blue Pill Booster output. A Medium Biochemical Reactor Array is required to mix the materials with the Synth Blue Pill Booster Reaction.

From the 20 Garbage units and 40 Amber Mykoserocin units you will get 30 units of Pure Synth Blue Pill Booster.

Now, take your Pure Synth Blue Pill Booster units, some Megacyte and your Synth Blue Pill Booster Blueprint to your Drug lab for manufacturing. To make one booster item you need one unit of Megacyte and 17 units of Pure Synth Blue Pill Booster.

Your POS setup for making the product would then be, one General Silo for the Megacyte input, one Hazardous Chemical Silo for the Pure Synth Blue Pill Booster, another Hazardous Chemical Silo for the Synth Blue Pill Booster and a Drug Lab to mix the materials to produce the booster.

Once the materials have been mixed in the Drug Lab you should have a Synth Blue Pill Booster!
